I must stay on a low sodium diet due to inner ear issues that lead to Vertigo if my sodium levels are to high. Beef jerky is my passion and I was crushed to learn I had to be on a low sodium diet when diagnosed with Meniere's disease as I knew my Jerky days were done. But nope found this place and jerky and so please to eat my favorite snack again. It tastes amazing! Thank you guys! A+
As someone who is of cajun descent and actually lives in southern Louisiana, I can say without a doubt that this is NOT the flavor I expect from a cajun boil. It has a good spice, true, but Old Bay seasoning is more of a northern seafood thing. For true cajun boil flavor, you need crab boil, which contains some bay seasoning, but also includes other spices as well. Maybe look at Zataran's brand crab boil for a good reference.
It doesn't taste like a usual low sodium food. It's wonderful! It is very tough but thats the way I like it.
If you're getting 17 grams of protein per ounce, you'll have to work for it. I don't mind my jerky a little tough, but this one requires dog teeth to eat. I didn't love the flavor either. It doesn't really have any distinct cajun flavor to it, just a little salty with no heat. There's much better jerky out there on this website.
I purchased your Cajun boil, beef jerky and the buffalo chicken jerky because they both are high protein and low sodium. I was surprised by the great flavor from these with low sodium.
Thank you Jerky.com for your amazing products!
